Site search
This feature, accessed at the top of every page of PlasticsNews.com, allows you to conduct a keyword search across several areas of our site. A results page displays a summary of content matching your search criteria and the number of search results from each section. The areas of PlasticsNews.com searched include: Breaking news, Story archives, Opinion, Calendar, Product news, Classified ads and Links. PlasticsNews.com contains roughly 25,000 stories that have been archived from print editions of Plastics News dating back to January 1994. This online archive usually lags publication of the weekly newspaper by two to three weeks. All users may search the archives and see summary listings of all content matching their search criteria. Breaking news
The home page, also called the Breaking news page, contains up to 33 headlines, including the most recent overall and in each of the separate topical sections. Access all news stories published online in the past month by clicking on the More breaking news link at the bottom of the home page. The Breaking news pages display stories in headline and summary form. Paid Plastics News print or Web-only subscribers may read full-text versions of the stories by clicking the headline accompanying each summary. We post an average of eight stories each business day, and stories frequently appear on our site prior to appearing in our weekly newspaper. Content appearing on PlasticsNews.com is not necessarily duplicated in print or vice-versa.

Categorized news
We have added this feature to make it easier for you to find what interests you. We now are grouping stories by the following topics: Automotive, Construction, Consumer products, Design, Machinery, Materials, Medical, Molds/tooling, Packaging and China/Asia. Additionally, by using the roll-over feature on the navigational bar, you also can see stories grouped by process, including: Blow molding, Film/sheet manufacturing, Thermoforming, Pipe/profile/tubing extruding, Rotomolding and Recycling. These latter sections correspond with the annual processor rankings we publish each year.

Opinion
Here you will find our opinions and other perspectives written by the Plastics News editorial staff and by industry experts. Viewpoint columns reflect the opinions of Plastics News with respect to industry events or issues. Mailbag contains letters submitted by readers and includes past content appearing in Plastics News or PlasticsNews.com. Perspective columns consist of staff- and guest-written pieces addressing industry issues.

Resin pricing
This section contains current and historical U.S. market-price information on more than 150 grades of plastic resin, organized into five categories: volume thermoplastics, high-temperature thermoplastics, engineering thermoplastics, thermosets and recycled plastics. This section contains detailed data on nearly 2,000 North American plastics processors, recyclers/resin brokers and mold makers. It also includes our most recent executive compensation ranking as well as nearly 500 listings of directory-type information on compounders, plastic lumber manufacturers and worldwide plastics-relevant trade organizations. PN's China site
Launched in June 2005, this bilingual site – in simplified Chinese and English – serves as a companion to the Plastics News China eWeekly electronic newsletter (www.plasticsnews.com/china/eweekly) that we broadcast via e-mail to readers in Greater China and around the world each week. The free Web site provides plastics and design professionals with timely, independent news about important markets, materials and technologies.

Resin Selector
IDES Inc., a Laramie, Wyo.-based firm that has specialized in plastics materials data management since 1986, powers this section. Customized for PlasticsNews.com, the Resin Selector search engine allows you to search for and compare engineering and technical information on 53,000 plastics materials from more than 450 global resin suppliers. Search by supplier, resin type, geographic region or processing method. More-detailed data is available from IDES for a fee.

FYI charts
We publish data-filled charts and infographics on Page 3 of each issue of Plastics News. This section includes all those graphics dating back to January 2001, categorized by the following topics: Automotive, Packaging, Machinery, Materials, Molds/tooling, Recycling, Processors and Miscellaneous.

Calendar
Our global calendar of plastics industry and related events is the most complete listing of such trade shows and conferences available.

Online directory
This section of industry links − which we previously referred to as our Web Watch Directory − contains listings of more than 4,100 plastics industry Web sites and is searchable by company name or one of more than 75 categories of business activity. The listings include hotlinks directly to each organization's site.

Product news
This section contains news and information on the latest in new products, technologies and innovations of interest to plastics processors.
