DETROIT (Nov. 3, 4:40 p.m. ET) -- Auctions are set Nov. 10 and Nov. 11 for two closed Visteon Corp. plants in Ohio and Missouri while surplus equipment from CertainTeed Corp.’s vinyl siding operation in Social Circle, Ga., will be auctioned on Dec. 3.

ATLANTA (Nov. 2, 11:40 p.m. ET) -- Seven months after being acquiring by a private equity firm, Atlanta-based Filtrona Extrusion has been renamed Pexco. Management of the company, which operates seven manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and Mexico, remains unchanged.

MACON, MISS. (Oct. 16, 2:30 p.m. ET) -- One year after shutting down unexpectedly, the former Outdoor Technologies Inc. plant in Macon, Miss., is back up and running under its second owner since the now-defunct Jancor Cos. Inc. went under in October 2008. Newly formed Exterior Profiles Corp. is now extruding rigid vinyl fence and railing profiles out of the 31-worker facility.

DALLAS (Oct 15, 11:30 p.m. ET) -- High density polyethylene pipe and fittings maker Independent Pipe Products Inc. is moving into a former Performance Pipe facility in Abbeville, S.C. The Dallas-based company had been seeking an East Coast location since at least April when IPPI bought an American Maplan extrusion line capable of making pipe in diameters up to 65 inches.

Updated Oct. 16, 11:45 a.m. ET) — Liansu Group, one of China’s largest plastic pipe makers, has opened a new factory in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, to target growing domestic demand for infrastructure projects. The factory has about 50 extrusion lines and several hundred employees.

TOKYO (Oct. 12, 1:35 p.m. ET) — Tokai Rubber Industries Ltd. will substantially reduce production of automotive hoses in North America as part of a restructuring plan in the wake of the recession. The company said it will cease production of rubber and plastic hose at its plant in Ohio known as DTR-Ohio. The plant will continue to make rubber anti-vibration products. The plant at DTR Tennessee will stop making plastic hose, though rubber hose production will continue there.

(Oct. 6, 8:40 p.m. ET) -- Acrylic block window injection molder Hy-Lite Products is now producing all of its window materials stateside after recently moving its tooling and China-based production back to the United States. The company recently added two used injection presses to handle the increased work.

FORT MYERS, FLA. (Oct. 5, 1:05 p.m. ET) -- A young Fort Myers-based outfit is using pultrusion technology from the aerospace industry to make profiles designed to replace wood and steel in home construction, and comprise structures strong enough to withstand catastrophic hurricane force winds and seismic activity. In addition, homes built with Composite Building Structures Ltd.’s glass fiber-reinforced polyester panels exhibit many of the same benefits as other polymer-based building materials designed to replace wood and steel.

SHEBOYGAN FALLS, WIS. (Oct. 1, 4:30 p.m. ET) — Housewares company Jifram Extrusions Inc. has added a Davis-Standard Corp. Super Blue extruder to boost its production. Jifram, which has seen sales increasing for its products sold at major retail outlets, bought the 3½-inch extruder from the show floor display at NPE 2009.

WILMINGTON, OHIO (Sept. 30, 7:40 p.m. ET) — Wood-plastic composite fence, deck and railing manufacturer TimberTech Ltd. in Wilmington has entered a distribution agreement with Canadian building products distributor CanWel Building Materials Ltd. Vancouver-based CanWel has more than 7,500 retail locations throughout Canada.
