MUTTENZ, SWITZERLAND (
Updated Nov. 6, 3:40 p.m. ET) -- Speciality chemicals company Clariant AG's Pigments & Additives division, which includes the company's colorants and additives for plastics, recorded a 25 percent drop in sales to 384 million Swiss francs ($377 million) in the third quarter of 2009, Clariant announced on Nov. 4. The company’s Masterbatches division, however, reported “broad-based demand recovery,” with improvements in the textile and automotive markets. The division reported a profit of CHF 37 million ($36.3 million) on sales of CHF 305 million ($299.6 million).
