Toolmaker StackTeck announces partnerships at NPE
By Rhoda Miel
PLASTICS NEWS

CHICAGO (July 7, 2009) -- StackTeck Systems Ltd. is increasing its technology and capabilities through a series of partnerships announced during NPE2009.

The company, based in Brampton, Ontario, specializes in complex mold making.

As part of a partnership with press maker Arburg Inc., StackTeck will focus on high-volume systems applications, using an Arburg 220 Allrounder 570 A electric injection molding press for testing and new product integration aimed at high-speed, high-pressure molding for packaging.

Machinery maker Netstal AG is providing an Evos 3500 injection molding machine for a dedicated in mold labeling cell for prototyping and pilot runs of in mold labeled products and help develop programs in North America. The cell includes a CBW Automation end-of-arm tooling package that will be used in conjunction with a four-cavity StackTeck mold.

In addition, StackTeck announced a development partnership with Hong Kong-based Matrix Technology Specialists Ltd., to further expand manufacturing capabilities in Asia. StackTeck’s sales in Asia now represent more than 10 percent of its sales, said CEO Randy Yakimishyn.
