The move comes as IQMS has made its first sale in India, to Shaily Engineering Plastics Ltd., a Baroda-based injection molder of appliance, medical and pharmaceutical products.

IQMS ERP India is known as a channel partner for Paso Robles, Calif.-based IQMS. The Indian firm will re-sell IQMS products and provide support, and serve as a site for training for customers in the Indian market.

"It's very important with our product to have a local source of service," said Glenn Nowak, IQMS vice president. "You need to have somebody they that can call during their business hours for support programs."

During the last several years, Nowak said IQMS has a lot of requests from Indian plastics companies, both multinational companies and domestic processors, for its EnterpriseIQ ERP software. "But we didn't want to sell the software before we found a good partner to help us do it," he said.

IQMS will continue its corporate technical support operations in the United States.

The ERP software company is becoming a global supplier. In June, IQMS opened a direct sales office in the United Kingdom, at Stortford, England.
