Automatik opens offices in Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur
By Nina Ying Sun
PLASTICS NEWS

Opening ceremony at the Shanghai facility
GROSSOSTHEIM, GERMANY (November 2, 2009) -- Pelletizing equipment maker Automatik Plastics Machinery GmbH has established two subsidiaries in Asia -- Automatik Plastics Machinery (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. and Automatik Plastics Machinery Sdn Bhd.

Global managing director Roger Stehr said the Grossostheim-based company established its first presence in China back in 1994 and has since opened a number of sales and service centers in different locations, which will be integrated into the new, larger corporate facility in Shanghai. With all of its sales and service activities under one roof, the company said, it can serve customers faster and more efficiently.

Automatik delivered its first strand pelletizer to China in 1969, which is still in active operation, the company said in a news release.

Jianlei Xu serves as the managing director of the Shanghai subsidiary.

The new Malaysian subsidiary in Kuala Lumpur includes a rotor resharpening center, the company said. Automatik has two more full-service resharpening centers in Asia, in Shanghai and Taipei.

There are nearly 500 Automatik pelletizing systems in operation through Southeast Asia, the company added.
