Study quantifies PET bottle lightweighting
ALEXANDRIA, VA. (February 19, 2010) -- According to a newly-released industry study, between 2000 and 2008, the weight of 16.9-ounce, single-serve PET water bottles dropped by nearly 33 percent. In
2008 alone, the bottled water industry saved 445 million pounds of PET by reducing bottle weights.

Market for renewable energy set to grow

US group issues testing protocols for degradable additives

evaluate the effect of degradable additives used in PET water bottles on the recycling stream.
Purac to produce PLA monomers in Thailand
GORINCHEM, NETHERLANDS (December 28, 2009) -- Netherlands-based Purac is to build a new lactides production plant in Thailand to manufacture feedstocks for bioplastics. Around 45 million euros (440.36
million yuan) is being invested in the unit, which is designed to produce both L-lactides and D-lactides to enable production of more heat resistant PLA grades.
