Sipa claims that the new bottler offers advantages over other machines on the market, as it can be set to handle different bottle sizes without the need to change any mechanical element.

US water brand adopts “biodegradable” PET
DANA POINT, CALIF. (July 28, 2009) -- Californian mineral water bottler Aquamantra has adopted Eco-Pure modified PET resin for its bottles, which is claimed to provide biodegradability without compromising conventional mechanical recycling activities.

Snappy innovation for plastics packaging
OYONNAX, FRANCE (July 21, 2009) -- The breakage-resistant property of plastics is an advantage in most applications but not in production of ampoules, which are opened by snapping away the neck. Now, the French plastic processor SĂ©riplast has developed a technology that uses irradiation to embrittle the neck of a polypropylene (PP) ampoule, allowing it to be "snapped" open without the risk of sharp glass splinters.

Sabic gets Chinese approval for Sinopec joint venture
BEIJING (July 21, 2009) Sabic has received approval from the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) to jointly participate with China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) in the petrochemical complex under construction in Tianjin, China. The development is expected to be completed in September 2009 with investments of around $3 billion.
